Siting and output
Where the fire can go, where it should go, and how much heat it needs to produce. These three answers rarely match on the first pass, and it is far cheaper to reconcile them on paper.
Surround design
Elevations and 3D views of the finished wall, so you are approving a room rather than a product photograph. We draw to your architect's language and file formats.
Materials
Soapstone, plaster, brushed or blackened steel, oiled oak, local slate. Samples come to you, and we are candid about which ones age well beside a heat source and which ones do not.
Coordination
We speak directly to the builder, the electrician and the ventilation contractor so the openings, the air duct and the power for a gas fire all exist when we arrive.
Send us the plan at concept stage.
The most common thing we are asked to fix is a fireplace drawn in a position that cannot be flued — an internal wall with a bathroom above it, or a roof line that puts the terminal below the ridge. Fifteen minutes over a drawing prevents all of it.
Consultation for professional practices is free and does not oblige you to specify us as the installer.
